Joan Jenette Scarbrough

Joan Jenette Scarbrough, 72, of Stockbridge, GA passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Piedmont Henry Hospital.  A funeral service will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, AL on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 beginning at 12:30 PM EST with Pastor Jackie Jarett officiating.  The interment will conclude at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday, April 29, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM EST.

Joan was born on December 8, 1946 in Opp, AL to the late Horton and Nina Odom.  She was employed for many years as a weaver at Westpoint Pepperell Mill.    Joan was a very loving lady who made a wonderful impression on every person she met.  Wherever she went, she was referred to as “Momma” and “Granny” by everyone.  Joan enjoyed making beautiful crafts and cross stitching but her favorite times were those spent with her family. This beautiful and special lady will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.  

Other than her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her husband, William Scarbrough, son, Bobby Revells, and great-grandson, Liam Wragg.

Survivors include her daughters, Daphne Rubiani (Jose’) of Locust Grove, GA, Shelia Sprayberry (Mark) of Nashville, TN, Rena Burgess of Monticello, GA; son, Christopher Wragg of Monticello, GA; grandchildren, Tara Wade, Christopher Williams, Adriana Burgess, Angeleah Burgess, James Burgess III, Stephen Cooper(Cindy), Brandy Wragg, Hope Adkins, Kimberly Wragg, Christian “CJ” Wragg, Mary Ann Revells, Bobby Revells, Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, many nieces and nephews; her fur baby, Peanut; special friends, Martha Ellis, Daniel, Tasha, and Kayla Sewell and Ethan Boyt.
