Joanne Prince Pair, 89, of Smiths Station, AL entered into rest on March 2, 2022 while at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Friday, March 04, 2022 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Scott Aspden officiating. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bryant McIntyre, Carter Michael, John Matthews and Austin McCall Pair and two great-grandsons, Nikolas Tyler Jones and Matthew James Key. A private interment will follow in Antioch Methodist Church Cemetery, 1620 Auburn Road, Salem, AL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pair was born in Salem, AL on November 07, 1932, the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter McIntyre Prince. She graduated from Smiths Station High School and attended Florida State University and Perry Business School. Mrs. Pair retired from Ft. Benning Civil Service in 1992 after 26 years of service as the Item Manager in the Supply Division. She was an active member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and Treasurer at Antioch Methodist Church for many years. She had left for us a legacy of love and commitment to family that will continue to impact our family for generations.
She was predeceased by her parents; two sons, Infant Joel Pair and Doyle Kent Pair, Jr.; two brothers, Walter “Mack” McIntyre Prince, Jr. and David Franklin Prince.
Mrs. Pair is survived by her husband of 67 years, Doyle Kent Paris, Sr.; a daughter, Patricia Pair Thorsen (James); a son, Walter Michael Pair, (Slade), daughter-in-law, Jane Pair. She was loved and adored by six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made in her memory to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 205, Smiths Station, AL 36877 or Antioch United Methodist Church (Attn: Patricia Thorsen or Claire Austin), 228 Glenwood Way, Smiths Station, AL 36877.
