Mrs. Joe Mavis Ezell, 80, of Seale, AL passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in the comfort of her home while surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EST Friday, January 5, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Barry Fleming officiating. Interment will follow at Seale United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ezell was born June 17, 1937 in New Brockton, AL to the late James Woodrow Mitchell and Vassie Ruth Donaldson Mitchell. She was a loving, wife, mother, sister, and grandmother whom was deeply devoted to her family. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, painting figure rings, bird watching, and spending quality time with all her family. She was a Baptist by faith. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clayton Ezell, two sons, James Earnest Ezell, and Kenneth Ezell, four sisters, Peggy Oglesby, Sara Anderson, Brenda Thomas, and Joann Tew, two brothers, Johnny Mitchell, and Marshall Mitchell.
She is survived by her children, Marvin Wayne Ezell and wife Vanita, Lester Ezell and wife Cindy, Lewis Ezell, Norma Fuller and husband Gary, and Carl Ezell; two sisters, Shirley York and husband Ken, and Nell Marler, (10) grandchildren, (8) great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
