Joe L. Hudson

Mr. Joe L. Hudson, 66, of Columbus, GA died at his residence Friday, November 01, 2019 with his family at his side.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 05, 2019 from 6-8 PM at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907. A private committal will be held at a later date.

Mr. Hudson was born October 19, 1953 in Columbus, GA son of the late Samuel Hudson and Mary Bryan Hudson. He was the owner of Leon’s Fabrics for many years. He was a simple man who lived a simple life of work and family.  He was a former member of Cascade Hills Church and most recently worshiped at Evangel Temple Assembly of God. He enjoyed reading the Bible, playing tennis and investing in the stock market. Mr. Hudson was a man of integrity and a "little know fact" was that he was an accomplished musician on several instruments. We will miss him in our daily routine; however, his memories will forever be cherished in our hearts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife, Mona Daughtry Hudson and a brother, David Hudson.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Carty Hudson, Columbus, GA; two sons, Josh Hudson (Heather), Smiths Station, AL and Brent Hudson (Lauren), Waverly Hall, GA; two step-daughters, Carty Dickson and Mary Frances Dickson both of Columbus, GA; two siblings, Delaine Hudson, Hamilton, GA and Bryan Hudson (Debbie), Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Braden, Bella, Stella, and Jax; several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
