John Albert Arnold, 67, of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Piedmont Regional Medical Center in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EST Monday afternoon, December 9, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Rodney Mitchell officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 to 3:00 pm EST at the funeral home in Phenix City. His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
John was born July 12, 1952 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Herman Arnold and Emmie Jewel Mathis Arnold. He had worked with Boral Bricks in Phenix City and was retired with many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed tinkering with older cars, loved fishing and hunting and the outdoors; was a big supporter of the Alabama Crimson Tide; and loved spending time with all his family and grandchildren. He was a Baptist by faith. Mr. Arnold served our country proudly and was a Veteran of the United States Army. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James L. Arnold, and a grandson, Jonah Arnold.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Patsy Roberta Stewart Arnold, three children, Patty Carlson and husband Ricky, Toby Arnold and wife Angela, and Danny Arnold and wife Ginger, one sister, Judy Burkett and husband David, and one brother William Mike Arnold; (7) grandchildren, Alyssa Carlson, Kiele Pass, Autumn Carlson, Allie Arnold, Tyler Arnold, Haiven Arnold, and Hadilee Arnold, one precious great granddaughter, Raelynn Teal, several nieces, nephews, extended family, and numerous friends.
