John H. Edwards

Mr. John H. Edwards, 93, of Phenix City, AL passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA. 

A Graveside service will be held 11:00 am EST Friday, December 13, 2024, at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Steve Newsome officiating. 

Mr. Edwards was born on April 5, 1931 in Elmore County, AL, son of the late Charles Henry Edwards and Alma Mavis Edwards. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired after 22 years. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Edwards worked for many years at Lawson Air Field on Ft. Benning. He was a man that could not sit still and had to be working. Mr. Edwards was a long time member of Bush Road Church.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Carol Jean Edwards; a sister, Hattie Mae Buswell; two brothers, Arthur Woodall and Charlie Aubrey Edwards; two great-grandchildren, Ritch and Rhett Pritchett.

Mr. Edwards is survived by a daughter, Charleen Paul of Phenix City, AL; a son, Charles Edwards and wife Lenita of Smiths Station, AL; two grandchildren, David Paul and KeLeigh Edwards Pritchett (Preston), four great grandchildren, Lana Paul, Lilly Paul, Leah Paul, and Ford Pritchett; several extended family members, and many caring friends.
