John Larry Riddle, Sr., 83, of Smith Station, AL died at Columbus Hospice, Friday, October 04, 2019.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Emory Evans officiating. Committal services will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Riddle was born January 01, 1936 in Phenix City, AL son of the late James Cecil Riddle, Sr. and Ina Williams Riddle. He was a U. S. Airforce Veteran and a member of the Carpenters and Millwrights Local #1723. Mr. Riddle also attended Golden Acres Baptist Church for many years. He was an avid hunter and pool player, a.k.a “Johnny the Pool Shark”. Mr. Riddle loved his family and was a true Alabama Football fan. He will be missed by his family and friends, but his memories are cherished in our hearts.
Mr. Riddle was also preceded in death by his brother, James Cecil Riddle (Frances) and bother-in-law, Clifford Edward Lloyd.
Survivors include his seven children, Mitzie “Sissy” Riddle, Wendy Riddle Key, Alisha Riddle Anglin (Brandon), Tiffany Riddle Fuentes (Gilbert) all of Phenix City, AL, John Larry Riddle, Jr. (Kathy), Smith Station, AL, Jeffery Keith Riddle (Jackie), Ellerslie, GA and Danny Holley (Ashlea), Phenix City, AL; two siblings, Peggy Riddle Lloyd, and Charles Lee Riddle (Sandra) all of Phenix City, AL; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; lots of loved nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
