John Lee Heisey, Sr., 83, of Phenix City, AL, passed away Thursday afternoon, at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at Vance Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Steven Shelley officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Mr. Heisey was born on May 8, 1933, in Elizabethtown, PA, son of the late Ralph B. Heisey and Arlene McCorkle Heisey. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Heisey, along with his family, owned and operated Ruth Ann’s Restaurant in Columbus, GA. He was also a member of New Hope Revival Church.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Carl Heisey; three grandchildren, Aaron Gleason, Mikayla Shreiner and Logan Kean.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Ann Lippart Heisey; three daughters, Kelley Lee Lahner and husband Damian, Lisa Ann Kean and Mary Elizabeth Heisey; three sons, John Lee Heisey, Jr. and wife Janice, Gregory Brandt Heisey and Daniel Edward Heisey; two sisters, Faye Ruth Kretz and husband Robert and Jean Shreiner; grandchildren, Isaac Sheiner, Benjamin Shreiner, Nadine Hosmer, Brent Shreiner, Allyson Heisey, Gregory Heisey, Jr., Morgan Heisey, Sidney Saber, Willow Spaulding; great-grandchildren, Netanya, Isabelle, Addison, Tyler, Evan, Rosemary and Lillian; many other extended family and many caring friends.
