John Ronnie Ellis, 69, of Ft. Mitchell, AL died at his residence on Sunday, July 25, 2021.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at a later date according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Ellis was born October 25, 1951 in Columbus, GA son of the late Kingston Alvin Ellis and Mary Ann Spinks Ellis. He was a 1970 graduate of Jordan Vocational High School. After graduation, he joined the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 72 where he earned his certification as a Master Welder and Pipefitter. Ronnie was proud of his training and worked for several years on Nuclear Power Plant installations. After retiring as a master welder and pipefitter, he started a new career as a Truck Driver, driving for Joe Ryan’s Trucking. Ronnie enjoyed playing the trumpet, his guitar, fishing and just being outdoors. He loved God and his family deeply. We will miss him in our daily routine; however, he will always be in our hearts.
Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Ilona Regina Weaver Ellis.
Survivors include his son, Steven Murray (Samantha); four siblings, Jim Ellis, Charles Ray “Bo” Ellis (Kathy), William Jack Ellis and Kay Elliot (Stan); grandchildren Ayden and Ethan; stepdaughter, Christie Duell Solano (Angel); nephews Mark, Brent, Christopher and Darrell; nieces, Brandi, Gena, Casey, Allie and Stacey; his beloved dog, “Sparkles”; several other family members and friends.
