John Smith

John Smith, age 55, resident of Smiths Station, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020.  Memorial services are scheduled at Beaver Creek Baptist Church, 891 Lee Road 197, Phenix City, Alabama on Friday, July 3, 2020, 4 p.m. with Reverend Lynn McManious officiating, according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City. 

Mr. Smith, son of the late Wayne Ralph Smith and Mary Helen Trawick Smith, was born December 4, 1964 in Columbus, Georgia.  He worked faithfully in the Columbus/Phenix City area as a Metal Fabricator in the steel industry for over 35 years.  Mr. Smith was Baptist by faith, enjoyed SCI-FI movies, and operating remote control planes.  He loved to cook and spend quality time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. The family remembers him as a man of integrity, strong-minded, who always loved his family.

Besides his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Earl Smith.  He is survived by his wife of 10 years, DeAnn Smtih of Smiths Station; two daughters, Stevie Wood of Phenix City and Kaleigh Hobbs and her husband Timothy of Cleveland, Tennessee; two sons, Corey Scott Smith of Phenix City, and Joseph Wayne Smith and his wife Tannie, also of Phenix City; one brother, Wayne Jefferson Smith and his wife Cathy of Phenix City; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
