Johnny M. Brown, 76, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully early Sunday morning on April 6, 2025, in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Brown was born May 20, 1948, in Southport, NC, son of the late Samuel Brown and Nettie Lamb Brown. He had served our country honorably and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was employed as a diesel technician for the Civil Service for many years of dedicated service. He loved gardening, outside activities, traveling, and hunting and fishing. He was a gentleman of great character with a humble attitude and simple thoughts. He cherished the love for all his family and enjoyed spending time and sharing precious moments with everyone. He was a Christian and a Pentecostal by faith.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Ray Brown; three brothers, Jimmy Brown, Lloyd Brown, and Otho Brown; five sisters, Gloria Rose, Libby Wilkes, Pat Stocomb, Monetta Johnston, and Mary Barber, and two infant siblings.

Left to cherish his memories is his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Gertrude “Eva” Wade Brown; three sons, Dennis Brown and wife Carla, Johnny Eugene Brown, and Robert Brown and wife Dorothy; two brothers, Gene Ray Brown and wife Sue Ann, and Bobby Sam Brown; five grandchildren, Brandon Brown, Megan Brown, Johnny Eugene Brown, Jr., Justin Alexander Brown, and Alexis Haywood; three precious great grandchildren, Georgia Brown, Lesleigh Moon, and Addison Barfield; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members, and many caring friends.

A private time of celebration and a special place of rest will take place by his loving family in his hometown of Southport, NC where he will always be remembered, honored, and never forgotten.
