Johnny Earl Hammond, Sr., 77, of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday afternoon, May 15, 2023, at Parkwood Healthcare in Phenix City, AL
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm EDT on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City with Rev. Ricky ward officiating. A private visitation will be held by his loving family at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City.
Mr. Hammond was born February 9, 1946, in Phenix City, AL, son of the late Marvin E. Hammond and Margaret Everidge Hammond. He had worked with Uniroyal Tires in Opelika, AL for many years and was retired. He loved hunting and fishing, watching outdoor shows on TV, and was a huge WWE wrestling and NASCAR fan. He was a Baptist by faith.
Other than his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Beck Hammond; a daughter, Lucy Renee Dake; and a sister, Gwen.
He is survived by his son, Johnny Earl Hammond, Jr.; grandchildren, Timothy Dake, Jacob Dake, and Carol Elizabeth Dake; and five precious great-grandchildren, Wesley, Paisley, Aubrey, Aurora, and Lorelie, numerous extended family members and many caring friends.
