Johnny Mack Brown, 80, of Phenix City, AL passed away early Wednesday morning, February 15, 2017 at Gentiva Hospice in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EST Friday, February 17, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Greg Hyche officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown was born August 5, 1936 in Dothan, AL to the late Causey Cody Brown and Camellia Alco Brown. He had worked with Fieldcrest Mills with 28 years of service. He served our country and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He had a passion for farm life; he enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing every chance he could. He was a Baptist by faith. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Crooms, and Inez Pate, two brothers, Robert Brown and George W. Brown, and a daughter-in-law, Janice Johnson Brown.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Luna Dell Daughtry Brown, daughter, Donna Leigh Brown, and a son, Greg Brown, all of Phenix City, AL; one sister, Martha Ellen Smith, one very special grandson, Garth Allen Brown, sister-in-law, Jimmie Baker, brothers-in-law, John Donald Daughtry and wife Beverly, Jerry Dalton Daughtry and wife Sandra, and Roger Daughtry and wife Shirley; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
