Jose Ovilio Tosado

Jose Tosado, 59, of Columbus, GA passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Gentiva Hospice, Columbus, GA.   A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 beginning at 11:00 AM, with  Pastor Ken Savage  officiating.  The interment will conclude the service at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Vance-Brooks from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM  

Mr. Tosado was born November 2, 1957 in Utuado, Puerto Rico to Gustavo Tosado and Maria Del Carmen Hernandez.   After honorably serving in the U.S. Army and Naval reserve Jose was the groundskeeper at The Preserve Apartment complex. He loved music and cooking cuajito. Jose was always ready to help anyone who needed it, he enjoyed life and was a happy soul.

Other than his parents, Jose is predeceased by a daughter, Jahaira I. Tosado- Perez.

Survivors include His wife of 25 years, Leticia Perez-Mejias. Parents-in-law, Isabel Mejias and Juan R. Perez. One daughter, Jennifer Marie Tosado-Perez of Columbus, GA. Two sons, Jose Carlos Tosado (Hazel) of St. Petersburg, FL and Gabriel Tosado-Perez of Columbus, GA. A sister, Noemi Robledo (Jorge) of Arecibo Puerto Rico, and three brothers, Ovidio Robledo, Hiram Robledo and Daniel Robledo, all of Arecibo, Puerto Rico. One brother-in-law, Juan R. Perez Jr. of Columbus, GA. Two grandchildren are also left to cherish the memory of their grandfather, Esmeralda Tosado and Akilaisha Tosado, both of Quebradillas, Puerto Rico.
