Joseph Ronald Mitchell

Joseph Ronald Mitchell, 85, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm EST Friday, November 29, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Pastor Jonathan Taylor officiating.   A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 pm EST, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mr. Mitchell was born April 27, 1934 in Phenix City, AL, son of the late James Mitchell and Rosa Allen Mitchell.  He worked in the automotive sales industry for most of his career.  Mr. Mitchell enjoyed hunting and shooting sporting clays. 

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Dr. James Stuart Mitchell and Kay Allen Mitchell. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jean Stratford Mitchell of Smiths Station, AL; two daughters, Lisa Hutchinson and husband Mickey of Phenix City, AL and Wendy Ogletree and husband Dr. Hugh Ogletree, Sr. of Salem, AL; one brother, Charles Mitchell; grandchildren, Mitchell Holt (Allison), Shannon Kiker (Kittrell)   , Bret Hutchinson, Madison Ogletree and Andrew Ogletree; great-grandchildren, Bailey Kiker, Kaylee Kiker, Emma Holt, Harrison Holt, Mason Kiker-Brooks and Raelynn Hutchinson; several extended family and friends.
