Joshua Bryan “Josh” Harmon, 39, of Columbus, GA was called into eternity on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Monday, May 20, 2024 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends from noon until the funeral hour on Monday at the funeral home.
Josh was born May 6, 1985 in Lewes, DE, son of Ann Sturgis and the late William Noble Harmon, Jr. He was a Supervisor with Communicorp/AFLAC in the Binary Division. Josh was a true example of a young man who worked hard and was rewarded for his efforts. While in high school, he worked part time at Toms, where he learned to save his earnings and build on that. From there he continued to build his skill set and abilities, ultimately leading to his current position, however, he still had big dreams to continue to grow and prosper.
When he set his mind to a task, Josh went at it full force. He took the time to learn as much about it as possible. Whether it was martial arts, grilling, money management or baseball, he was prepared and ready. He taught himself to pitch curve balls and sliders, various kinds of martial arts and, most of all, to grill. He was a grilling expert. Josh loved to highlight his grilling abilities for family and friends, especially during the fall Alabama football season.
Josh never seemed to meet a stranger, and folks were naturally drawn to him. Josh enjoyed people and learning about them. His hard work also allowed him to attend the 2014 Heisman Gala in NY as a reward. No matter what he did or where he went, he included family and friends.
Josh was truly a man of integrity, values and family. We will always miss him, but will never forget all that he means to us. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey.
