Mrs. Joyce Shepard

Mrs. Joyce Shepard, 88, of Phenix City, AL passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021 at her home.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm (EST) Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Mitchell Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, one hour before the service, at the funeral home.  Honorary pallbearers will be Rives Poss, Anthony Campbell, Andy Matusevich, Dewey Matusevich, Chris Campbell, Mark Campbell, Jeff Shepard, Richard Campbell, Brad Matusevich, Don Wells and Gary Bratton.

Mrs. Shepard was born November 11, 1932 in Clio, AL, daughter of the late Ellis Smith and Lilla Moats Smith.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and attending her Bible study classes.  Mrs. Shepard was a long time member of Crawford Road Baptist Church.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don Shepard; a daughter, Sandra Shepard Shelton; two sisters, Margaret Poss and Barbara Stecher; two brothers, Ray Smith and Gene Smith.

She is survived by a son, Steve Shepard and wife Loree of Valley, AL; three grandchildren, Tressa Russell and husband Robert, Savannah Jeter and husband William and Abby Shepard; two great-grandchildren, Jackson Jeter and Jameson Jeter; a son-in-law, Berry Shelton; sisters-in-law, Merel Smith, Louise Smith, Betty Shepard and Margaret Campbell; nieces, Tina Wakefield, Hilda Jean Smith, Shannan Shepard-Long, Kathy Matusevich, Ann Campbell-Rasco, Evelyn Sharp and Gina Blankenship; other extended family and friends.
