Joyce Sue Costello

Joyce Sue Fewell Costello, 85, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital in Phenix City, AL.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm EST Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. M R Hamilton officiating.  Interment will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Mrs. Costello was born February 27, 1930 in Nyota, AL to the late Arnold A. Fewell and Olive Tinney Fewell.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren.  She enjoyed sewing, reading, watching TV and keeping up with current events.  She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church in Phenix City.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Costello, two brothers, Gaines Fewell, and Luther Fewell, and one sister, Peggy Fewell Campbell.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy Glass Addonizio, Teresa Costello Schlorf, both of Phenix City, AL, one son, David Costello and wife Melissa of Smiths Station, AL; brother, Jimmy Ray Fewell and wife Rebecca of Cataula, GA, (6) grandchildren, Timothy Schlorf, Sarah Schlorf, Abby Costello, Nelson DeLucca, Noah DeLucca, and Ian Costello, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own.  Online condolences may be made at www.vancememorialchapel.net
