Juanita Storey Dean, 98, of Toomsboro, GA, and formally of Smiths Station, AL passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Pruitt Health Care in Toomsboro, GA.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EDT Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. John Rigby, Rev. Skip Speed, and Pastor David Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.
Mrs. Dean was born November 30, 1917 in Smiths Station, AL to James Americus Storey and Exa Lee Slappey Storey. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was deeply devoted to her family. She was the oldest living member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and she dearly loved her church family. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ralph Odell Dean, a son, Frank D. Dean, brothers, Demetrius Storey, and James A. Storey, Jr., and a sister, Arminta Martin.
She is survived by her son, James R. Dean and wife Virginia of Toomsboro, GA, and daughter-in-law, Coreen Dean of Fort Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Karyn Newman, Andrea Patterson, and Johanna Rogers, and four step-grandchildren. Mrs. Dean is also survived by three great grandsons, William Morgan, Johnny Rogers, and James Rogers, and a great granddaughter Dixie Rogers.
