June Broughton Reavis, 86, of Columbus, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the Columbus Hospice House.
Mrs. Reavis was born July 1, 1932 in Boston, OH to the late Loren C. Broughton and Grace Markham Broughton. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother whom was deeply devoted to her family. She enjoyed attending the Senior Citizens Center in Columbus and engaging in the many activities shared with her many friends and staff. Her greatest joy was spending quality time and sharing special moments with all her grandchildren and family. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Notley Parks Reavis, Jr, daughters, Dianna L. Phillips and Dawn M. Britt, son, Joey Reavis, sisters, Margaret Fox, and Fern Agustus , and one brother, Loren (Sonny) Broughton Jr.
She is survived by one daughter, Toni M. Shiver of Augusta, GA, three sons, Notley Parks Reavis, III, of Seale, AL, Richard W. Reavis of Lynn Haven, FL, and Mark D. Reavis of Jacksonville, FL, (15) grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held 6:00 pm Wednesday evening, August 8, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel (Vance Brooks Funeral Home) in Phenix City. A private interment will be held at the Main Post Cemetery at Fort Benning, GA. The family will receive friends just prior to her memorial service and shortly after her memorial service on Wednesday at the funeral home in Phenix City.
