Kamala Jama Davis

Kamala Jama Davis, 56, of Phenix City, AL died at her residence on Wednesday, April 01, 2021 with her family near her.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, April 05, 2021 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Slade Morris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Ms. Davis was born December 12, 1964 in Columbus, GA daughter of Jimmy Davis and the late Brenda Roland Davis. She was an accomplished athlete in both Basketball, at Central High School and Softball. Kamala was even awarded a scholarship at CVCC due to her excellent Softball skills. She had also worked at AFLAC in Claims for many years. Kamala found great joy in her nephew, Jordan. They often spent hours enjoying watching Alabama Football and other fun activities. She loved animals of all kinds and often rescued them. Her love of family, sports, being a trailblazer and giving freely to others will always be fondly remembered in our hearts. Kamala was taken from us sooner than we wanted, however she will always live on in our hearts and memories.
Survivors include her father, Jimmy Davis (her second mother, Connie Houston), Phenix City, AL; sister, Tamara Davis Avant and her husband, Bob, Phenix City, AL; precious nephew, Jordan Avant, Phenix City, AL; several aunts, cousins and friends also survive.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Daryl Ellis and Dr. Takia Oglesby for their continued support and excellent care. We would also like to thank her caregivers at Encompass Home Health for their excellent attention and care.
