Karen Anne Hart

Karen Anne Hart, 50, of Columbus, GA passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice.  A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Friday, November 25, 2016 beginning at 1:00 P.M. EST with Brandon Burgamy officiating.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 A.M. EST.    The interment will be Monday, November 28, 2016, at Riverdale Cemetery, beginning at 10:00 A.M. EST. 

Ms. Hart was born December 9, 1965 in Oakland, CA to John F. Hart and Marilyn Kegg Hart.  She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a church mission in Spokane, Washington.  She served in the United States Navy Reserves for eight years as a Chaplin’s Assistant. She was a graduate from Utah State University, Logan, Utah.  She enjoyed studying different cultures from different countries, but most of all she enjoyed growing and caring for flowers and plants.  She especially loved camellia’s and orchids.

Survivors include her father, John F. Hart and wife, Patricia of Columbus, GA and her mother, Marilyn Pedersen and husband, Steiner of Savannah, GA; two sisters:  Wendy Dixon (Jeff) of Columbus, GA and Pam Chandler (Jeff) of Houston, TX; three brothers:  Chris Hart (Jo) of Richmond Hill, GA, Steve Pedersen of Napa, CA, and Sean Pedersen (Cathryn) of Tracy, CA; three uncles:  Jack Hart (Marianna) of Jacksonville, FL, Glen Hart (Gretchen) of AL and Terry Kegg (Rhonda) of Castro Valley, CA; one Aunt, Christy Kegg of Gardnerville, NV; five nieces:  Jennifer Jones, Ashley Dixon, Amanda Dixon, Madison Dixon, and Kate Chandler; and two nephews, Benjamin Hart and Matthew Chandler.
