Karin Lea Young

Karin Lea Young, 61, of Columbus, GA passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Thursday, May 6, 2021 beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lawrence Stewart officiating. A private interment will conclude. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. In keeping with efforts to control the spread of COVID-19, social distancing guidelines will be observed and facemasks will be required.

Karin was born on February 21, 1960 in Brodhead, WI to the late Duane Robert Hall Bliss and Betty Pinnow Bliss. After proudly serving her country for 15 years in the United States Army, she worked the following 29 years in administration with the Overby Company.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 34 years, SFC (Ret) Benny Lee Young; daughter, Samantha Dent (Vincent) of Columbus, GA; sons, Terry Young of Phenix City, AL and Demetrio Young (Amy) of Killeen, TX; sisters, Lorie Hansen (Brad) and Janis Bliss, both of Brodhead, WI; brother, Garry Bliss (Luis) of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Angelia Ayres, Daylin Young, Dayshaun Young, Terry Young, Jr., Kaitlyn Young, Jaxson Dent, Jonson Dent; and great-grandchildren, Lucas Young and Leilani Ayres.
