Katharina King

Katharina King , 86, of Columbus, GA passed away Monday, April 30, 2018.  A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Thursday, May 03, 2018 beginning at 11:00 A.M. Father Nick Mansell will be officiating. The interment will conclude the service at Evergreen Memory Gardens.  A rosary service will be held Wednesday, May 02, 2018 at 5:30 P.M. and the family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  

Katharina King was born December 5, 1931 in Weissbach, Germany to the parents of Peter and Maria Hassdenteufel.  Katharina was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she spent much of her time. A beloved wife and mother, Katharina unselfishly dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will forever be missed.

Other than her parents, Katharina is predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Loshel R. King, two sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Martha Jones and husband Bobby of Salem, AL and Sue Ann King of Columbus, GA; two sons, Daniel Peter King and wife Vanessa of Sanford, NC and Thomas R. King and wife Shirl Anne of Columbus, GA; sister, Orna Hassdenteufel of Germany; two brothers, Windel Hassdenteufel of Germany and Adolf Hassdenteufel of Germany; two grandchildren, Thomas Reed King Jr. of Columbus, GA and Bryan King of Sanford, NC; and one great-grandchild, Chase King.
