Katherine Davis Ritchie

Katherine Davis Ritchie, 76, of Columbus, GA passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at her residence in Columbus.  A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Saturday, October 29, 2016 beginning at 2:00 P.M. EST with the Reverend Lewis Brown officiating.  The interment will conclude the service at Parkhill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday, October 28, 2016 at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST.  

Mrs. Ritchie was born August 25, 1940 in Cleveland, TX to the late Elsie Davis and Ruth Rushing Davis.  She was a lifetime member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, where she played the piano.  She loved music and would sing at Valley Rescue and nursing homes.  She was a broker for over twenty-five years and worked for Carl Wilson Insurance Agency.

Other than her parents, Mrs. Ritchie is predeceased by her loving husband of thirty-one years, Willie A. Ritchie; a son, Steven Ross Pate; brothers:  Milton Dowdell, Allen Dowdell and Luby Dowdell; and a sister:  Mildred Dowdell.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Pate Harrison of Columbus, GA; a son, Terry M. Pate of Columbus, GA; grandchildren:  Terry Brandon Pate (Danielle) of PA, Katherine Danielle McDaniel (Alan) of Dalton, GA, Lisa Renee Pate of Columbus, GA, Steven Dylan Pate of Columbus, GA, Keleigh Nichole Harrison of Columbus, GA; and Cameron Chase Harrison of Columbus, GA; great grand children:  Leland Pate of Columbus, Ga and Theo Pate of Greencastle, PA; brothers:  Jimmie Dowdell and William Davis; sister:  Ruby Martin;   special friends:  Marna and Larry Nollen, Greg Harrison, Rob Gleason, Britney and Issac Benoit; Judith Harison, Amy Garner and Kalin Scroggs; and fur babies:  Piper (cat), Ivy (dog), Bailey (dog) Remi (dog), Mia (dog) and Stella (cat). 

Those serving as pall bearers are Chase Harrison, Kalin Scroggs, Tyler Guthrie, Alan McDaniel, Greg Harrison and Larry Nollen.
