Kathryn Ann Hill Smith

Kathryn Ann Hill Smith, 72, of Seale, AL died at Southeast Alabama Medical Center, Dothan, AL on Sunday, June 02, 2024. 

Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 PM (EST) on Thursday, June 06, 2024 in Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Smith was born March 27, 1952 in Kalamazoo, MI daughter of late Robert Hill and Phyllis Lockner Thompson. She had retired from Sunshine Biscuit Co. after many years of committed service. Ms. Kathryn loved being with her family, especially when they were at the beach. She also had a huge purse collection. Ms. Kathryn never seemed to “find just the right” purse. Combine shopping for purses with family at the beach and it was the perfect day. 

We were not ready to let her go so soon; however, she will continue to live on in our hearts and in the stories we will tell our children. 

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Hill and Phyllis Thompson; a daughter, Terri Ann Swint, a sister, Alice Deason and in-laws, Janice and Barney Smith. 

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Andy Smith, Seale, AL; daughter, Angelia Trawick (Danny); two sons, Jody Jeffrey and Bryan Smith (Crystal); one sister, Sharon Brady; one brother, Robert Hill (Diane); brothers-in-law, Scott Smith (Cindy), Tim Smith and Ricky Smith (Beth); eleven grandchildren, Morgan Ferrer (Casey), Jayme Ducker (Hunter), Jayce Swint, Aaron Jeffrey, Zach Smith, Summer Smith, Drew Smith, Jacob Smith, Jonah Smith, Alexis Trawick and Briana Andrews; three great-grandchildren, Skylan, Bentley and little Weslyn to be here soon; loving fur baby Max; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
