Katie R. Howard, 77, of Smith Station, AL passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 in Columbus, GA. A funeral service is scheduled for 7:00pm EST Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City. Mrs. Howard was born March 22, 1938 in Graceville, FL to the late Robert and Claudie Mae Roberson. Katie worked at Sunshine Biscuit for over 44 years before she retired. She loved baking for family and friends and rarely traveled without her beloved “Sir Dudley”. She loved her family without concern for who you belonged to but made sure you were taken care of. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Merle Helms, Mary Reeves, Mernette McQuinn and Michael Jurisin. She is survived by her children, Bobby Joe Howard and wife April and Kathi Holder and husband Jimmy; sisters, Shirley Norrell and Barbara Brown; grandchildren, Katie Ann and Shane; great grandchildren, Kali and Little Tony; nephew, Robert Brooks and wife Mary; numerous other loving family members and many caring friends.
