Kenneth Leighton Goins

Kenneth Leighton Goins, 81, of Fortson, GA passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Fortson, GA on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.

Kenneth was born on April 14, 1940 in Campbell County, TN to the late Charlie and Nora Goins. He was employed with Vulcan Materials Company where he retired as a superintendent. Kenneth attended Piney Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed the services, going to gospel singings, and getting together with his church family. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes, but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. It was no secret that Kenneth absolutely adored his wife and that each of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren had their own special place in his heart.

Other than his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his brothers William Goins and Ovid Goins and sister Arlene Hubbard. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 62 years Evelyn Goins; daughter Wanda Faye Shaffer (Harry Nelson); son Kenneth Scott Goins (Pam); sister Oleda Lambert; grandchildren Alicia Barnes, Andrew Goins (Shelby), Jimmie Tice III and Holley Ray (Tim); and great-grandchildren Braedyn Barnes, Aliva Romanishan, Colton Ray and Jaxson Ray.
