Kenneth Ray Mullins

Retired US Army Major Kenneth Ray Mullins, 65, of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Fort Gordon Hospital in Augusta, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm EDT Thursday, August 27, 2015 at First Assembly of God Church in Phenix City with Rev. Barry Danner officiating.  Interment with full Military Honors will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm EDT at the funeral home.

Kenneth was born January 19, 1950 in Raysal, WV to the late Isaiah Mullins and Annie Lois Salyers Mullins.  He served as Simulation Training Division Chief for the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE) with the Department of Defense Civil Service at Fort Benning, GA.  He served our country in both the enlisted and officer ranks and retired from the United States Army with 20 plus years of service and was awarded numerous accommodations, ribbons, and medals.  He was a member of the American Legion in Phenix City; Kenneth enjoyed his job, family, church and his two Shih Tzu dogs.  He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Phenix City.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by Sisters Mable (Mae) Mullins Waldron, Nola Faye Mullins Runyon and Betty Sue Mullins Furches, and Brother Isaiah Mullins, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Gin Yi Chin “Jay” Mullins of Phenix City, AL, his children Christina Clavijo, of Panama City, FL, Ann Mullins of Hickory, NC, Christopher Mullins and wife Amanda of Smithville, MS, Jeffery Mullins and wife Amber of Andalusia, AL, and Susan Benner and husband Dustin, of Excelsor Springs, MO; sisters, Evelyn Mullins Lester and husband Edmond, Norma Jean Mullins Terrill, and Patricia Ann Lester and husband Dewey, brothers, Lowell Mullins and wife Lillian, Johnny Mullins and wife Brenda, and David Mullins and wife Deborah.   Kenneth has nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many caring friends.
