Kenneth Rayford Weldon, Sr., 76, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 in the comfort of his home.
A private memorial service with Military Honors will be held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Grant Parker officiating.
Mr. Weldon was born July 16, 1940 in Nashville, GA to the late William Lum Weldon and Ida Jannie Sumler Weldon. He was an over the road independent truck driver for 50 years, and was also working as a security guard for Twin City Security in Auburn, AL. He served our country and was a Veteran of both the United States Marines and the United States Air Force. Mr. Weldon was avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, yard activities, and was passionate about his family, and he loved sharing quality time and spending special times with all his grandchildren. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, and three sisters.
He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 30 years, Mary “Ellen” Swilley Weldon, two daughters, Jennifer Neal and husband Michael, and Heather Bricker and husband Wendell; (4) grandchildren, Jamon Pate, Blake Varndell, Angel Bricker and Jenna Neal, numerous other loving family members, and many caring friends.
