Lance Coleman Anthony, 67, of Salem, AL passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in the comfort of his home.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EDT Monday, October 19, 2015 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus. Interment with full Masonic Rites will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 pm EDT at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, in Columbus, GA.
Lance was born November 20, 1947 in Columbus, GA to the late Noel Mercer Anthony and Mable Brookins Anthony. Lance was a 1966 graduate of Columbus High School; a 1970 graduate of Columbus State College. He received his Master’s Degree from Stephen F. Austin University. He retired as a Social Worker at the Bullock Correctional Facility in Union Springs, Alabama. He was a past Grand Master of the Wilson Williams Masonic Lodge 351 and a Chapter Dad of the Fraternal Order of Demolays in Columbus, Georgia. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David G. Crockett.
He is survived by his brother Brent Anthony, Savannah Georgia, his sister Lawana (Kenneth) Mize, Milledgeville, Georgia and his sister-in-law Amelia Crockett of Atlanta, Georgia, nieces and nephews Rick and Gary Crosson, Elisabeth (Joseph), Dombrow, Tacoma, WA, Carolyn (Jason) Amos, Marietta, GA, and David G. Crockett, Jr., New York, NY.
