Larry E. Brown

Larry E. Brown, 78, of Phenix City, AL passed away early Thanksgiving morning, November 28, 2024, in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving wife and niece.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm EST on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm prior to the funeral service at the funeral home in Phenix City.

Mr. Brown was born on December 26, 1945, in Donalsonville, GA, he was the son of the late Jim Griggs Brown and Mozelle Alday Brown. He was employed with Columbus Foundry in Columbus, GA and retired after many years of faithful service. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving three tours during the Vietnam War serving with the MCB58. He enjoyed tinkering with old classic cars, loved visiting the IHOP for breakfast and fellowship, and in the past enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Larry liked watching college football, always pulling for the Alabama Crimson Tide to roll. He was a Christian by faith.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Marie Brown, and four siblings, Annette Folds Peed, Ruby Grace Brown, Betty Sue Stout, and Clifton Brown.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Anita Williams Brown of Phenix City, AL; son, Kevin Brown and wife Pamela of Phenix City, AL; sister, Carolyn Culpepper and husband Lavon of Cataula, GA; two grandchildren, Brandi Homan, and Destiny Daniel; one precious great granddaughter, Celeste; special niece and nephew and caregivers, Kyle and Michelle Folds; nephew, Keith Brown along with many other nieces and nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
