Larry Clyde Thompson

Larry Clyde Thompson, 77, of Phenix City, AL passed away early Sunday morning, November 3, 2019 in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EST on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Savage officiating.  Interment with Military Honors will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home in Phenix City.  His grandsons will have the honor to serve as active pallbearers.

Mr. Thompson was born June 3rd, 1942 in Elba, AL to the late Lish Buren Thompson and Medda Lou Ballard Thompson.  He had worked for Pepe’s Wholesale Pizza Company as a sales representative and was retired with 34 years of service.  He served our country and was a Veteran of the United States Navy.  He enjoyed Auburn football, woodworking, fishing, grilling, camping, the outdoors, gardening and tending to his muscadine vines.  His family was the most precious of all to him, he loved sharing special times and memories no matter what the occasion might be.  He was Pentecostal by faith and a member of Beallwood Church of God in Columbus, GA.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Joyce.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lucy M. Hall Thompson of Phenix City, AL, three children, Pam Ryals (Ken) of Phenix City, AL, Angie Dawson (Rod) of Smiths Station, AL, and Bruce Thompson (Tammy) of Phenix City, AL, mother-in-law (Mama) Marie Hall, one sister, Betty Jo Robinson (Sonny) of Juniper, GA; (11) grandchildren, Elizabeth Phillips (Jon), Kendra Hamilton (Brant), Brittnay Ryals, Whittney Jones (Zach), Bailey Dawson, Braxton Dawson, Bruce Thompson,Jr.. Cameron Griffin, Elliot Thompson, Deven Green (Courtney), and Damion Green (Taylor); (8) great grandchildren, Jackson, Raylan, Evie, Bransyn, Skylan, Eli, Avalyn, and Hampton, numerous extended family members and a host of many caring friends.
