Larry Dempsey Adams, 58, of Smiths Station, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown in Columbus, Georgia.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, AL on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
Larry was born on May 11, 1963, in Dothan, Alabama, the son of Shirley Dempsey Adams and Ruth Thomas Wilson. Larry was a hardworking heavy equipment operator for Dykes and Sons Construction Co. He enjoyed his family, listening to rock music, muscle cars, and collecting Indian Artifacts. Larry taught his sons by example to have a good work ethic and how to operate heavy equipment, and he will always be remembered as one of the best in the business. Larry loved his partner in life, Susan and his family. We will miss him in our daily routine; however we will cherish his memories in our hearts forever.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Shirley Dempsey Adams; mother, Ruth Wilson; brother, Steve Adams; and daughter, Samantha Adams.
He is survived by his three sons, Billy (Brooke) Wilson, Joshua Adams, and Brandon (Laurie) Adams; life partner, Susan Adams; stepson, Austin Dixon; stepdaughter, Tiffany Brooks; brother, Paul (Pam) Adams; seven grandsons, Gage Adams, Branden Adams, Dawson Kelly, Denton Wilson, Layton Wilson, Liam Autry and Jaxon Autry; four granddaughters, Natalie Kelly, Alexis Adams, Kasidy Bryan, and Madelyn Bryan; as well as several extended family and caring friends.
