Larry Preston Slaton

Larry Preston Slaton, 68, of Phenix City, AL, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in Panama City Beach, FL.  A memorial service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM(EST).

Mr. Slaton was born on February 26, 1950 in Franklin, VA to the late Tommie Slaton and Eloise Slaton.  Larry worked dutifully as a Manager at WestRock and was known by his employees as treating everyone with generosity and care.  Larry loved being outdoors, and spent a good amount of his free time fishing and cycling.  Larry was also a fan of music and loved to dance along to his favorite songs. 

Other than his parents, Mr. Slaton is preceded in death by his brothers John, Darrell, Coleman, and Wayne; and his sister, Marjene.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Mary Elizabeth Slaton; daughters Jackie of Augusta, GA and Charity of Denver, CO; and his brother, Malcom Slaton (Penny) of Frederick, CO.
