Laura Ann Gallups, 53, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.
A Service of Remembrance will be held Monday, January 20 at 2 PM EST at Ladonia Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Hyche officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. A private interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Laura was born on January 30, 1966 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Jim and Bettie (Bain) Gallups. She was a 1984 honor graduate of Woodland Christian Academy where she excelled in basketball and softball. She was a graduate of Troy State University, where she majored in Psychology. She worked mainly in the medical field as an office manager for different practices in Columbus and in North Carolina. She was a sports fanatic and a huge supporter of any team from Auburn University. She collected Auburn memorabilia, especially eagles.
Laura was a sensitive and caring person and a loyal friend. She loved animals, especially her constant companion, Ginger. Those who knew Laura knew that she would do anything for her friends and family. Laura’s passing will definitely leave a void in the hearts of all who loved her.
Survivors include her brother, Dwayne Gallups and wife Terry; nieces, Mallory Nelson and husband Brandon, and Rachel Huffenberger and husband Ryan; two precious great- nephews, Emmett Huffenberger and Ellis Huffenberger; her grandmother, Leona Gallups; and her aunt Doris Davis, all of Phenix City, AL; her aunt and uncle, Mary DeAngelis and husband John of Littleton, CO, and numerous other loving family members and many caring friends.
