Lewis Leo Metivier, 55, of Phenix City, AL, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am EST, on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, with Reverend Norman Dunlap officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm EST, at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City.
Mr. Metivier was born on January 12, 1961, in Buford, SC, the son of the late Bernard Exie Metivier and Louise Betts Metivier. He served in the US Marines and worked in the weapons pool doing contract work at Ft. Benning.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by a son Brett Lewis Metivier and brother Bernard Exie Metivier, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Metivier; 2 sons, Daniel Scott Metivier, wife Kelly and Matthew Robert Dimitroff; (2) siblings, Michelle Kuwazaki, husband Harold and Joseph Exie Metivier, wife Emma; 2 grandchildren, Marti-Claire Metivier and Natalie-Brynn Metivier; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
The family is thankful to the Lamb family and their years of care and love for “Lew”.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to Columbus Hospice House or Open Door Community House in honor of Lewis Metivier.
