Private Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EDT) on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Ladonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Phenix City, AL with Dr. Sonny Helton officiating. The guest register and room will be open from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon (EDT) Tuesday morning for anyone wanting to pay their respect. The family respectfully plans to have a private time of visitation due to family health concerns.
Mrs. Parker was born December 18, 1929, in Phenix City, AL daughter of the late James Sims and Willie Mae Hill Sims. She had retired from CB & T as a bookkeeper after many years. Mrs. Parker enjoyed playing cards, board games and Bingo, however her favorite past time was traveling. She always had her bag packed and ready just in case the opportunity to go presented itself. The destination was not important, just the journey. She has now made her final journey and is safely in Heaven. We will miss her, but never forget her.
Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her parents, James, and Willie Mae Sims; siblings and two husbands, Joseph “Lawrence” Wilson, and Rufus Clyde Parker; two children, Elizabeth “Beth” Wilson, and Joseph “Joe” Eugene Wilson.
Survivors include her son, James “Jim” Wilson (Phyllis), Albany, GA; four grandchildren, Jason Wilson (Brianna), Jennifer Wilson Wingate (Matthew), Lindsey Wilson (Crystal) and Jericho Wilson (Rebecca); thirteen precious great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
