Lillian Peggy Ogletree, 88, of Phenix City, AL, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Columbus Hospice Midtown Medical in Columbus, GA.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm EDT, on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Pastor Steve Faulk officiating, according to Vance Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends this evening from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ogletree was born on October 7, 1927 in Lee County, AL, the daughter of the late Clyde Massey and Lillian Lloyd Massey. She worked for many years as a substitute teacher in the Russell County school system and was faithful member of Ladonia Baptist Church. Her favorite hobbies were bowling, sewing and working with her flowers.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Cleve P. Ogletree, Sr., whom she loved dearly; one son, Cleve P. Ogletree, Jr.; two sisters, Shirley Lomax and Francis Norris; and a son-in-law, Michael Hughes.
She is survived by three daughters, Shelia Hughes, Sheriell Duck and husband Vernon and Jane Collins and husband Ray; one sister, Maggie Mallory and husband Wayne; one brother, Lee Massey and wife Linda; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; many extended family members and church family.
