Lillie Owen Pruett Ivey, 79 of Salem, AL passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon EDT Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. William McCluskey officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home. Mrs. Ivey was born May 29, 1935 in Halifax County, VA to the late Jefferson Pruett and Virginia Cook Pruett. She was retired from Roche Industries and a member of Grace Church of Nazarene. She enjoyed bird watching, telling jokes, cooking, and playing cards with her family along with all the precious moments that came when spending time with her family. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Pruett. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Bobby Earl Ivey of Salem, AL, children, Jennifer Kay White and husband Cliff of Vernon, FL, David Frank Carter and wife Betsy of Portsmith, VA, Aubrey Dale Carter and wife Joanne of Smiths Station, AL and Jeffrey Lee Carter and wife Jackie of Salem, AL; two sisters, Irene Ingram of South Boston, VA and Virginia Dalton of Danville, VA Six grandchildren, Lauren Osterman (Jake), Carrie Paige Green, Brandi Carter, Blake Carter (Megan), Jamie Jeul and Shaunda Sewell; nine great grandchildren, Ethan, Anslee, Hanna, Kasey, Dylan, Alexus, Randy, Lilly, John Paul and one on the way, numerous other loving family members and many caring friends. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to your favorite charity in memory of Mrs. Lillie Ivey.
