Linda Carol Mccrary

Linda Carol Haines McCrary, 71, of Columbus, GA passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus.  A funeral service will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA  on Thursday, August 23, 2018 beginning at 12:00 Noon EST with Pastor Mike Randall  officiating.  The interment will conclude the service at Parkhill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday, beginning at 11:00 A.M.

Mrs. McCrary was born March 4, 1947 in Columbus, GA to Bill Haines and Era Smith Downs.  Mr. Ferrell Downs, her step-father, raised her.  Mrs. McCrary was a member of Weems Road Freewill Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Society.  She was also a member of the Gallops Senior Center and an avid Elvis fan.

Other than her parents, Mrs. McCrary is predeceased by her brother, Tyrone Haines.

Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, Charlie McCrary of Columbus, GA; a daughter, Tammy Werner (Drew) of Smiths Station, AL; one aunt, Ruby Stahl of Griffin, GA; and four grandchildren:  Emily Ray, Noah Ray, Madison Werner and English Werner, all of Smith Station, AL.
