Mrs. Liria I. Sheffield

Liria I. Sheffield, 69, of Columbus, GA passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital.  A memorial service will be held at The Church of Columbus, 2001 Double Churches Road, Columbus, GA on Saturday, September 26, 2020 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Deawn Richards officiating.

Liria was born on October 30, 1950 in Colombia, South America to the late Abel Olarte and Carmen Gutierrez Olarte. She was a dedicated Christian who lived life with a servant’s heart. A member of The Church of Columbus, Liria enjoyed the special relationships she had developed with her church family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and sister who loved and adored her family. Liria will be greatly missed but will always be remembered of with the sweetest of memories by all whose lives she touched.

Other than her parents, Liria is preceded in death by her son, Lisander Escobar.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 29 years, William Joe Sheffield, son, David Sheffield of Columbus, GA, siblings, Eva Calderon (Luis) of Columbus, GA; Reinaldo Olarte (Maria Elena), Elizabeth Olarte, Lucy Olarte, Maribel Olarte (Omar), and Carmen Olarte, all of Colombia, South America; 3 nieces, and 9 nephews in the U.S and Colombia combined.
