Little Azul Nunez

Little Azul Nunez, age 4, of Columbus, GA died at Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, GA Tuesday, June 18, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00PM on Saturday, June 22, 2019 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Brad McDaniel officiating. Committal services will be held immediately following the service in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Little Azul was born May 12, 2015 in Columbus, GA daughter of Jose Nunez-Rodriguez and Shannon Stokes. She was always making those around her laugh and smile. Little Azul was “all girl” and enjoyed playing dress up with her family and friends. Though her time with us was cut short, we know she is now one of God’s Little Angels looking down on us and still smiling.

Little Azul was preceded in death by her uncle Albert Stokes, III and cousin, Dakota Thorsen.

Survivor include her parents, Jose Nunez-Rodriguez and Shannon Stokes, Columbus, GA; four sisters, Jayda and Brooklyn Roulhac, Carolina and Ashley Nunez; two brothers, Luis and Bryan Nunez; maternal grandfather, Albert Stokes, Jr. (Pamela); maternal grandmother, Christy Stokes; paternal grandmother, Teresa Sanchez- Rodriguez; two aunts, Nikki Church (Jason) and Anna Rollins (Nick); five uncles, Justin Stokes, Steven Woodham (Kayleigh), Michael Woodham (Kendall), Manuel Nunez and Alejandro Nunez; great-grandparents, numerous cousins and friends also survive.
