Lois Bowden

Lois Hollinghead Bowden, 92, of Phenix City passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice of Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Vance Memorial Chapel at 3:00 PM EST with Bro. Randy Comer officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. A visitation is scheduled from 2 until 3 EST, Tuesday at Vance Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Bowden was born November 14, 1923 in Opp, AL to the late Lawrence Hollinghead and Taver Vance Hollinghead. She was retired from Sunshine Biscuit and had many friends and family she loved dearly. She enjoyed her two little dogs, she called them her babies, Angel and Penny.

Other than her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers Robert Hollinghead and James Hollinghead.

She is survived by her son Bobby Bowden and his wife Martha; two sisters, Mary Cockrell of North Carolina and Clara VanDyke of Columbus, GA; three grandchildren, Keith Bowden and his wife Laura, Carl Bowden and Dustin Bowden and his wife Brandy; seven great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; a dear friend of many years, Joe Fuller; many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

She will be greatly missed.
