Lois Ida Gresham, 85, of Columbus, GA, passed away peacefully at Columbus Hospice. A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, 2015 beginning at 2:00 P.M. at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. Minister Rodney Porter will be officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 at the funeral home. Mrs. Gresham was born March 12, 1929 in Fremont, NE daughter of the late Otis Carroll Hilyer and Christina Rudolph Hilyer. Mrs. Gresham worked as a Para-Professional at Fox elementary school for 20 years. She was an active member of Striplin Terrace United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Mrs. Gresham was a devoted Christian and always put God first in her life. She loved spending time with her family. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, George Henry Gresham; three brothers, Earl, Leon and Kenny Hilyer Survivors include five daughters and four son-in-laws; Valerie and Ken Paulk of Columbus, GA. Melanie Gardner of Phoenix, AZ. Vickie and Bill Aycock of Lynn Haven, FL. Kathy and Chuck Boucher of Danville, VA. Karen and Doug Baker of Madison, AL; Four sisters; Jean McGlamry, Mary Esther McCart, Ruth Ann Powers, Carolyn Helms; Grand Children; Jason Paulk, Mallory Powell, Lee Gardner, Trisha Reeves, Christina Boucher, Carolyn Boucher, Charlie Boucher, Gresham Baker. Great Grandchild Hunter Powell and numerous nieces and nephews In lieu of flowers the family asks that those so desiring make a memorial donation to Covenant Hospice in Panama City FL., Columbus Hospice and Striplin Terrace United Methodist Church. .
