Lonnell L. Newbern

Lonnell L. Newbern, 85 of Columbus, GA. passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Gentiva Hospice House. Graveside services will be held Friday, February 14, 2014 beginning at 11:00 A.M. EST, at Evergreen Memory Gardens. Reverend Skip Speed will be officiating. The family invites friends for visitation, Thursday February 13, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. EST at Vance-Brooks Funeral home, 4048 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. Lonnell L. Newbern was born January 26, 1929, daughter of the late Ashberry and Pearl Lingo, in Cottonwood, AL. Her favorite hobby was line dancing at the Gallop Center. Lonnell was a caring mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Other than her parents, Lonnell is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Joe B. Newbern, Jr, and sons, Joe Randy Newbern and Barry Lamar Newbern. Survivors include Son, Phillip Paul Newbern and daughter in law Victoria of Pine Mountain, GA; Grandchildren, Christopher Newbern, (Stacy), Elizabeth Ann Collins, (Joseph), Laura Blyer; great grandchild, Joey Robert Collins.
