Lora Jean Bozarth

Lora Jean Bozarth, 87, of Fortson, GA passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at her residence.  A funeral service will be held at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 20 GA-315, Fortson, GA on Sunday, February 23, 2020 beginning at 3 PM with Rev. Mickey Adams officiating.  A private family interment will conclude at Piney Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the church from 2 PM until 3 PM, one hour prior to the service.

Lora was born on December 31, 1932 in Bokoshe, OK to the late Raymond Richardson and Pearl Brown Richardson.  Throughout her life, Lora dedicated herself to taking care of the needs of others.  She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family with her whole heart.  Lora’s sweet smile and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by her family and friends, as well as her church family at Piney Grove Baptist Church, but she will always hold a special place in each one of their hearts.

Other than her parents and siblings, Lora is preceded in death by her son, John Keith Bozarth.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, John Bozarth; daughter, Janice Bozarth Green (Dale) of Fortson, GA; son, Dee Bozarth (Wendy Carpenter) of Largo, FL; daughter-in-law, Marsha Kidd-Collins Bozarth of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren: Niki Johnson Brown (Charles), Shannon Stafford (Shawn), Jessica Pennington (Shawn), Ashley Bozarth, Danica Hames Lowman (Greg), Kevin Green (Jessica), Kristen Green Ogletree (Garrett), and Blake Carpenter; sixteen great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lora’s favorite charities, St. Jude Hospital or the Shriner’s Hospital.
