Louise Hughes Supple, age 95, resident of Hurtsboro, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at Parkwood Nursing Facility. Graveside services are scheduled at Hurtsboro Cemetery, Hurtsboro, Alabama, on Friday, July 17, 2020, 2:00 p.m. EST (1:00 p.m. CST) with Reverend Keith Turner and Reverend Chris Webb officiating, according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama.
Mrs. Supple, daughter of the late Kinch Hall and Maggie Hughs Hall, was born May 15, 1925, in Bullock County, Alabama. She owned and operated Hurtsboro City Grill for over 38 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hurtsboro. Mrs. Louise loved her family, particularly her grandchildren, and loved the Lord with all her heart. Mrs. Louise enjoyed spending time in her garden and always enjoyed baking cakes for her family and friends. She was also an avid Auburn Tigers football and Atlanta Braves baseball fan. The family remembers her as a lady who was always truthful and treated everyone the same.
Other than her parents, Mrs. Supple was preceded in death by her first husband, James T. Hughes, and second husband, Jimmie Supple; son, Don Hughes; three sisters, Syble Oliver, Ellen Dorrill, and Elizabeth Boysen; four brothers, Kizzie Hall, Ned Hall, James Hall, and Roy Hall.
She is survived by one son, Ron Hughes of Phenix City; daughter-in-law, Pam Hughes of Hurtsboro; step-daughter, Joanna Holmes (Frank) of Hoover; brother, Charlie Hall of Phenix City; six grandchildren, Todd Hughes (Kelli) of Phenix City, Angel Hughes of Birmingham, Courtney Hughes (Bryson) of Phenix City, Jake Howard (Ashley) of Birmingham, Lauren Hunter (John) of Vestavia Hills, and Stephanie Watkins (Harman), of Vestavia Hills; ten great-grandchildren, Claire and Hart Hughes, Ty Fleming, Stella Howard, Anna Gray and Webb Hunter, Brayden, Hayes, Dawson and Tucker Watkins, as well as many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to First Baptist Church Hurtsboro, P.O. Box 224, Hurtsboro, Alabama 36860 or the Hurtsboro Cemetery Fund.
