Lucille Ellison Beezley

Lucille Ellison Beezley, 94, of Hurstboro, AL passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Saturday, July 9, 2016.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 CDT / 12:00 noon EDT Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Hurtsboro United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Turner officiating.  Interment will follow at Hurtsboro Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 am CDT / 11:00 am EDT at the church.  Serving as pallbearers are Joey Fetner, Daniel McGriff, Ellison Beezley, Jeffery Barrett, Walter Corbitt, and Louie Curry, Jr.

Mrs. Beezley was born February 11, 1922 in Creek Stand, AL to the late Walter K. Ellison and Lollie Belle Dawkins Ellison.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family deeply. She was a graduate of Huntingdon College and helped many-many students by private tutoring, she also enjoyed teaching Sunday School and was a member of the Hurtsboro United Methodist Church and a member of the UMW.  Mrs. Beezley was a member of the UDC, DAR, and a longtime member of the Hurtsboro Literary Club.  She also loved art, knitting, hand work, and crocheting.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Joel Edward Beezley, a son, Rev. Joel Ellison Beezley, and two sisters, Winifred Corbitt, and Camilla Curry.

She is survived by her daughter, Winifred Beezley of Hurtsboro, AL, son, David Beezley and wife Holley of Hurtsboro, AL; (5) grandchildren, Anna Barrett (Jeffery), Ellison Beezley (Hilliary), Ashley Fetner (Joey), Katie Beezley, and Amanda McGriff (Daniel), (3) great grandchildren, Oakley Fetner, Holley Fetner, and Lucy Barrett, numerous other loving family members and many caring friends.
