Lucy Taylor, age 95, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Piedmont Midtown Columbus Medical Center. Graveside services are scheduled at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, Alabama on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, 10:30 a.m. with Reverend David Dollar officiating, according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 6-8 p.m.
Mrs. Taylor, daughter of the late Charlie Green and Pearla Johnson Green, was born October 25, 1925 in Clayton, Alabama. She was retired from West Point Mill where she faithfully worked for over 18 years. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and had been actively involved with the Phenix City Seniors Club at Central Activities Center. She was a lady who loved to dance; paint ceramics; and grow a flower garden. Mrs. Taylor also looked forward to quite time reading, particularly amish books. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music. The family remembers her as a lady who loved all of her large family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Taylor; and two sisters, Alice Kendrick and Grace Williams. She is survived by one daughter, Teresa Slocom and her husband Ron of Panama City, Florida; one son, William “Bill” C. Boyette and his wife Ruth of Phenix City; five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
